About 40 people attended this year's Annual Meeting
of the Deerfield Manor Homeowners Association on Monday, March 8,
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm at the Boyce Middle School. This year's
meeting featured a panel focused on changes in and around Deerfield
Manor, for example, development along Redfern/Turnberry, at the
intersection of Boyce/Thorntree, and at Boyce Middle School.

The Block Party was Saturday, September 12, on Pinetree
between Thorntree and Quail Hill.
The Bike Parade started the fun at 3:00. The festivities
included face painting, water play provided by the
USC VFD, a moon bounce,
an evening movie (Hotel for Dogs), cotton candy, food provided by your
neighbors and
Atria's, drinks, and plenty of
good conversation with your neighbors until late into the
evening. Several young DJs entertained everyone with their iPods.

The annual Deerfield Manor Neighborhood Garage Sale was
Saturday, June 6, 8:00am - 12:00pm. Twenty three families
participated this year. The cost to participate
was $7. The Homeowners Association handled advertising and posted
signs on the day of the sale. All participants were given a
balloon on the day of the sale to attach to their mailbox.

The Spring Cleanup and Treasure Hunt was Saturday, April 18.
It started with coffee, donuts, and juice at Judith & Harry Browne's
house (1440 Candlewood Drive).
Hidden among the trash was treasure for younger residents.
We thank everyone who came out to spend an hour with their neighbors
helping to spruce up the neighborhood.

The Deerfield Manor Neighborhood Garage Sale was
Saturday, June 7, 2008, 8:00am - 12:00pm.
It cost just $7 to participate. The Homeowners Association handled
advertising, distributed maps to garage sale houses, and gave
participants a balloon that advertised their houses as a destination
for bargains and

The Golf Outing was Saturday, May 31, 2008.
Neighbors gathered for an afternoon of golfing, and an evening of cocktails
and a cookout. Non-golfers joined for the evening festivities.

The Spring Cleanup and Treasurer Hunt was Saturday, April 5. It
started at 2678 Thorntree Drive for coffee, juice, and donuts.
Then participants spent an hour or two with friends and neighbors to
help remove litter and spruce up the neighborhood.
Returning this year was the Hunt for Hidden Treasure!!
Five red stars were hidden throughout the neighborhood for younger
participants. Anyone who found one while collecting trash won a
special prize!

was Saturday, February 2, at 10:00 am in the Boyce School Nutrion
Center and LGI. See the

New Officers and Street Representives
were elected at the Annual Meeting of the Deerfield Manor Homeowners
Association.
The new officers are Kevin Hughes (President), Judith Browne (Vice
President), Missy Moore (Secretary), and Jamie Callan (Treasurer).
Vidya Craig, Lisa Kovacs, Stephanie Robinson, Wendy Vespa, and Liz
Walsh are new street representatives. Please give them your support,
suggestions, and ideas about how to improve the neighborhood.

Last call!!! The deadline for inclusion in the 2008
neighborhood directory was Saturday, January 12. If you haven't
renewed your membership yet,
please do it now!

Holiday luminaria was distributed to members of the
Homeowners Association in mid December. As is a Deerfield
tradition, residents placed them along the streets and walks,
giving a special glow to Christmas Eve.

Santa was December 8.

The Flag Football and Pizza Party was September 30.
Flag Football was at 12:30-3:00 at Boyce School Field. The party was
at 4:00 at Al's Cafe, with food, friends, and big-screen Steeler's
action!

The Fall Clean-Up and Treasure Hunt (also known as
Cash for Trash ) was September 29th.
Residents spent a couple of hours with their
neighbors to help remove litter and spruce up the
neighborhood. Somewhere among the trash, treasure was buried for the
kids!
